Join Us By Taking Part In the Discover Durham’s “Love Durham Challenge”

You are invited to choose how you love Durham best — as a Creative, Style Icon, Foodie, or Family — and “check in” using the Discover Durham mobile app at 10 participating businesses or events in their chosen category between January 5 and February 28, 2026. 

Along the way, you are encouraged to bring a friend, try something new, and share their experiences on social media. Once a challenge is completed, you’ll visit our downtown Visitor Info Center to receive a Love Durham tote and themed patch—with extra bragging rights for anyone bold enough to complete all four challenges. 

In addition to business check-ins, you can also check in at select events that align with each Love Durham category, including:

Foodie: Lula & Sadie’s Sunday Jazz Brunches - Link Below, Counter Culture Coffee Tastings at Ten and

Downtown Durham Food Tours with Taste Carolina.

Family: Princess Day at Durham Convention Center, Duke Women's Basketball vs. Georgia Tech, in partnership with Special Olympics, Carolina Theatre’s Sensory Friendly Series, and The Carolina Theatre's Family Saturday: Big Love with Stormie Daie.

Creative: Hayti Heritage Center’s 2026 season (select events), Third Friday Art Walks at Golden Belt, Carolina Theatre’s 100th Birthday Party, and UHill Mural Tours.
